Converse-ing with the Rocker-me
School just never seems to stop being crazy! Recently I found out I have the chance to go on a Juniors Abroad trip from Rome to Paris! I am super excited to have this opportunity!
Unfortunately, I do not have enough money to go, so I have been working more, as well as coming up with ways to fundraise. I also started a fund on fundly.com, so if you are interested in helping support me, or want to read more about it, here is where you can go to check it out or give money if you want to do that as well:
I am a Vice President of a Fashion Club at my school and recently helped plan some upcoming events for our club along with fellow officers. We have a blog we each will be posting on and updating people about what the club is doing, fashion and also fitness exercises you can do here:
I am hoping we can start to get more students to join our Fashion Club who also love it as much as we do!
Now For what I am sure you have been waiting to read: The brands and inspiration for my outfit!
For this outfit, I was inspired by a friend of mine who contacted me in need of some styling help the other day. She was not sure if she should go with the skinny jeans, and boyfriend tee, or try for a different outfit completely. Seeing her options brought this inspiration and made me want to go for a more edgy look today. This style makes me think of something you could wear out to a concert or even just for everyday wear like I did.
I chose to pair my Urban Outfitter shoes, with a pair of Forever 21 skinny jeans. Both black, they were able to help bring the attention and focus to my boyfriend tee from Converse. I added a Mossimo Supply Co. jean button-up top from #Target to help add a little bit to the outfit. This was something that was easy to wear to my classes that involved draping a dress form, and developing film in a darkroom. I am not the type to wear sweatpants to class, but this was something that could give me that same relaxed feel, yet still be stylish!
Roses Are Red…
It has been so long since I have posted, but school has been a killer! I also recently was sick for a few weeks and laid in bed watching Netflix 90% of the time. Anyway, I chose to wear some items I myself created and sewed together. For my sewing class this past semester we made a skirt, shirt and tote bag. Now I hated the skirt so I chose to throw it in the back of my closet and never wear it! But the shirt was something I absolutely love and wear all the time! I had a ton of fabric left over that I thought it would be neat to make a skirt out of the same material because I love the rose design and just the way the fabric feels.
When it came time to make a tote bag, the professor said it had to coordinate with the clothing line we had started already (the shirt and skirt), so I chose to use a red corduroy fabric. Now, normally, I am not the type to wear corduroy, but for this bag I think it works. I managed to still have enough rose fabric left to use on my tote bag and chose to create a sort of rim so it can work with my shirt or my skirt! I thought it would be great to incorporate the theme of roses into the bag to help pull in the bag better basically.
Now on to the rest of my look!
I chose to add a black cardigan from H&M to keep it casual yet give it a little bit of a dressy look. The bracelet is from Africa that was made by women over there. They take pieces of paper and roll them up into beads and make bracelets! I love that it is handmade yet looks great with any sort of outfit I may choose to wear!
Lastly, for the simple pieces that you always have to wear, I added a simple cami and a pair of black heels to finish my look.
It is easy to throw a look together when you have inspiration. Luckily I saw my skirt next to a white shirt in the closet and my inspiration for this look began!
I will try to keep updating this more often.

You Had Me At Taco
Happy late Halloween! I have been working hard on putting together costumes for my roomate and I. In September, my roommate found a picture of girls dressed up as Taco Bell hot sauce and she really wanted to do it. Being the fashion designer I am, I was up for a challenge! I was not sure how I was going to go about creating these costumes because I did not have a pattern but honestly, a lot of my creations were not made with patterns. I do not like patterns that much.
It took a while for me to get to it and create the outfits, and I waited until a week before Halloween. I had my roommate write up the hot sauce phrases while I sewed so she could also take some credit! I was honestly getting annoyed by the end and wanted to just get the costumes done. So they did not completely turn out how I wanted, but they were good enough to get comments from people all around!
I enjoy testing out my skills and learning from my experiences for the future. I know for next time I will start a lot earlier, and make sure to truly take time as I do it. I want to challenge you if you are a sewer, to create something without a pattern! It may be “out of your element” to do such a thing, but it is a great challenge.

Just saw this. Thank you so much! I am trying to do good :) If you see anything I could change, or ways to make it better let me know! Hope everything is going well for you!
Hope your day was splendid! I am a volunteer at PortlandNXT for Portland’s Fashion Week. For orientations I chose to pair a black infinity scarf with my gray sleeveless jersey dress; both from H&M, my new jean button up top from JcPenny’s brand: Arizona. Being that the fall season has finally come around, I wanted to add some color to the look with some Old Navy red tights. and my Mossimo Supply Co. Khalea Combat Boots.
I like to show off that you really do not need all the money in the world to still look cute and fabulous! It also is not bad to splurge a bit here and there ;)
Anyway, comment if you like, but I will see you cats later! Enjoy your night and remember this:
“Never use the word “cheap”. Today everybody can look chic in inexpensive clothes (the rich buy them too). There is good clothing design on every level today. You can be the chicest thing in the world in a T-shirt and jeans — it’s up to you.”
P.S. I will begin to post my lookbook.nu photos at the top each time I update my page. So please please please go and help me gain some hype! You guys are awesome :)
